Fircrest school member asks for help

Aicha Danfakha, an attendant counselor 1 at Fircrest School in Shoreline and a member of Local 341, has suffered a terrible holiday season tragedy.

Her husband passed away in October while visiting Africa – before Aicha and their 13-month-old daughter Aminata Kourouma could join him.

Little Aminata never had a chance to meet her father. (If the name “Aminata” sounds familiar, that’s because her aunt, Aminata Salisbury, a Spokane Local 1221 activist who is now on the union’s General Government Bargaining Communications Team).

Aicha is now a single mother juggling to pay for childcare, food and housing.

Aicha and Fircrest co-workers have also teamed up to help secure Aminata’s future education.
