Executive Director
Kurt Spiegel was selected by the AFSCME Council 28/WFSE Executive Board to serve as the union’s Executive Director in July of 2022. As WFSE’s head of operations, he leads a dedicated team of more than 120 staff who support nearly 50,000 public service workers across Washington State.
Before serving as WFSE staff for more than 20 years in roles including Tacoma Field Office Supervisor and Director of Advocacy, Kurt was a WFSE member at the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and served as a shop steward, vice president and then president of WFSE Local 2753.
