We Won! Tell WA Interpreters to Withdraw from the Election

Tell WA Interpreters to Withdraw from the Election

L&I interpreters have spoken loud and clear. Interpreters United (WFSE) won the L&I union election with 408 votes or 81% of all votes cast. WA Interpreters received 73 votes.

Because Interpreters United (WFSE) didn't quite reach the 50% +1 threshold of the 1097 eligible voters, we will have to have another election, called a runoff election, if WA Interpreters doesn't withdraw.

WA Interpreters isn't going to win, but it may prevent all L&I interpreters from being able to bargain a contract and submit any financial gains to the Legislature by the October 1st deadline.

We think that's unacceptable. L&I interpreters have spoken. WA Interpreters needs to withdraw from the election immediately.
