WFSE/AFSCME DELEGATES ENDORSE GREGOIRE FOR GOVERNOR, LADENBURG FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL; ENDORSEMENTS MADE IN OTHER FEDERAL, STATEWIDE AND LEGISLATIVE RACES

Delegates to WFSE/AFSCME’s 2008 Endorsements Conference endorsed Gov. Chris Gregoire for re-election and Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg in his race to unseat state Attorney General Rob McKenna.

The delegates met today (Saturday, March 29) at the Machinists 751 Hall in Seattle.

They primarily endorsed incumbents. Action on other races may come after regional teams interview candidates.

Candidates needed a two-thirds vote from the delegates to win an endorsement.

Candidates prize an endorsement from the Washington Federation of State Employees/AFSCME because the union is the largest state employees union with a well-respected legislative and political action program and a strong core of member volunteers.

Here are the endorsements made at the March 29 WFSE/AFSCME Endorsements Conference (* indicates incumbent):
